A reply shouldn't bump a thread unless you follow that user or it is a reply to your message.

Otherwise you get a strange issue where if you sync someone new, but they have already interacted with posts by people you follow, a bunch of old posts get bumped to the top.

I think this is what @ev was talking about in %3uJm5xf...
